The Crickets
2009 | 8.5” x 11” | Archival Ink and Graphic Marker
Crickets reveal temperature by measuring how many times they chirp in 14 seconds, and then adding an extra 40. This provides a roundabout temperature in fahrenheit and is known as Dolbearl's Law. Crickets are sensitive to their environment because their survival relies on temperature. The medicine of the cricket is to embrace the gift of hyper-sensitivity by being responsible with it. To recognize that it is an extension of us, and that we are not an extension of it.
